The Masonry Association of Great Britain (MAGB), an established trade body dedicated to representing all companies, businesses and organisations working within the masonry sector of UK construction, is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Aldis as its new Chairman.
Keith brings a wealth of leadership experience spanning multiple industries and trade associations. For the past nine years, he served as Chief Executive of the Brick Development Association, where he became highly respected and well-connected in the brick industry.
Keith’s appointment marks a pivotal step for MAGB. His unique combination of industry knowledge, strong networks, and proven ability to unite stakeholders will help accelerate the MAGB’s mission to strengthen skills, raise standards, and provide a powerful collective voice for the masonry industry. By drawing on both his deep connections in the brick sector and his track record in governance, training, and workforce development, Keith is exceptionally well placed to guide MAGB through the next stage of growth and influence
With a background that began in electrical installation engineering, Keith quickly moved into education, training and industry advocacy, helping to establish JTL, now the UK’s largest independent apprenticeship agency in construction. He has since held senior roles within the Construction Confederation (now Build UK) and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, in addition to serving as a Director of the CSCS Registration Scheme. His long-standing dedication to workforce development, training and governance has earned him recognition as a founding Investors in People Ambassador and regular judge for the National Business Awards.
Commenting on his appointment, Keith says, “I’ve always believed that good governance, strong professionalism and investing in people are the real keys to success. Trade associations work best when they listen to their members, build trust and bring everyone together around a shared voice. I’m grateful to the Masonry Association of Great Britain for this opportunity, and I’m really looking forward to working with the team and our members to strengthen and support the sector.”
The MAGB was founded in response to the government’s drive to “Get Britain Building.” The Association’s mission is to unite masonry contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and innovators across the industry, creating a culture of continuous improvement, skills development and knowledge sharing. Through strategic training initiatives, apprenticeships and government engagement, MAGB plays a crucial role in supporting the industry’s ability to deliver the motivated and skilled workforce needed for the UK’s ambitious construction agenda.
In addition to his professional achievements, Keith continues to contribute to the wider community as Secretary to the Brickworks Museum near Southampton, a Court Assistant with the Worshipful Company of Tylers & Bricklayers, and a trustee of several charitable organisations. With Keith Aldis at the helm, the MAGB is set to provide strong, experienced leadership as it builds a united future for the UK’s masonry industry.
