The Masonry Quality Charter 2026

At our inaugural Masonry Association Members’ Technical Meeting, Keith Aldis unveiled the proposed Masonry Quality Charter 2026—a new industry-led initiative designed to strengthen confidence in masonry manufacturers through greater transparency, accountability and recognised standards.
Keith explained how the voluntary Charter has been developed to provide an independent framework for recognising manufacturers who can demonstrate excellence in areas such as product compliance, ethical business practices, sustainability, quality management and supply chain transparency. The scheme is intended to give clients, specifiers, contractors and merchants greater confidence when selecting responsible suppliers in an increasingly regulated construction environment.
The presentation also outlined the Charter’s assessment process, including its Critical Assessment Points (CAPS), mandatory requirements for product compliance and anti-modern slavery, and a tiered recognition system that rewards businesses demonstrating higher levels of best practice. Keith concluded by sharing the proposed roadmap towards the Charter’s planned launch in January 2027, encouraging industry engagement and participation during the consultation phase.
The Masonry Quality Charter represents an important step towards creating a more transparent, responsible and trusted masonry supply chain, helping to raise standards and reinforce confidence in the products and businesses that underpin our industry.
